ABOUT BRAD

Hey, I'm Brad. I'd love to be part of your big day, or the next big event you're planning. I'm a professional musician and wedding singer based in Brisbane, Queensland, but have travelled throughout Australia and New Zealand for live music performances.

 

I began playing music at the age of five in my hometown, Townsville.  I'm a self-taught musician... starting first on piano, then trumpet, tuba and drums.  My family couldn't afford a drum kit, so I learnt to play by air drumming and hitting the couch with sticks. I had an affinity for many instruments but found my passion for guitar at 12. I quickly mastered the instrument and started performing in local bands and youth groups - as a drummer and guitarist.

 

In 2010 I founded Brad Stokes Music where I started with regular pub gigs. My business expanded rapidly and I started performing at weddings and corporate events.  Since then I have played at over 500 weddings, engagement parties, private functions, milestone birthdays/anniversaries, and corporate events.  This experience has helped me tailor my music to suit almost any function, allowing you to provide you with all the support you need to make your special function unique and special.

 

I've played at many popular venues including The Zoo, Archive Beer Boutique, Liquid Bar & Grill, Chalk Hotel, Foxy Drop, Toro Bar, Leaf espresso, The Plough Inn, Tin Billy's, The Shafston Hotel and Ballistic Beer Boutique. I still have the occasional gig at these venues so if you would like to see me live you may be in luck... otherwise there are some videos on this site to get a feel for my style.  In 2010 I won the 'Best Male Vocal' category in Showcase North Queensland, in 2011 was also involved in FretFest - an original singer-songwriter mentoring program in Brisbane, and performed in 2013 played at a large music festival with my former band.
